Dean vs. Incumbent

DEAN WILLARD: Focused on serving the Port of Seattle for the next four years. Endorsed by Democratic groups and individuals throughout King County.

Incumbent: Does the incumbent even want the job anymore? He’s openly planning to run for governor as a Republican in 2012. And what does the incumbent actually say about his plans?

“People from across the political spectrum have urged me to look at it, and I’m listening to them,”…

“I’m focusing on my reelection but I am talking to people who are encouraging me (to run for governor),” he added.

DEAN WILLARD: Supports the Clean Ports Act, which would protect the air and water of 87 million Americans and assist operators in meeting emission standards.

Incumbent: Voted against supporting the Clean Ports Act of 2010 and supports a CEO who talks green but balks at reform. Happy talk about the environment is meaningless without action.

DEAN WILLARD: Committed to economic fairness and fiscal responsibility.

Incumbent: Led the charge to give a 9% raise to the Port’s CEO, then cast the deciding vote. Port staff are capped at 3.5% raises during tough economic times while the CEO makes over $366,000 a year and gets a 9% raise with the incumbent’s blessing. What kind of leadership is that?

Enough is enough.
